things to remember..

Here's a few things that I need to remember for the next time I'm pregnant:

- Things smell sooo strong, and this happened the day before I found out I was pregnant!
- I had to bust out the Bella Band (genius invention, by the way).. around 11 weeks.
- I get nauseous at night, I have to keep my stomach fed with plenty of pretzels and crackers.
- I get headaches! I never really got headaches or migraines before I was pregnant, but I do now. I have to keep eating throughout the day and drink plenty of water.
- Even though it's a pain sometimes, exercises really makes me feel great. It helps to walk, run, bike, all that.
- Oh, my rear end expands along with my stomach. Oops!

there's a lot of changes.. but there's a few!

baby turnip

What a lovely shape the baby is this week! :) This is what is happening this week.. the baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord is growing stronger and thicker. The baby weighs about 5 ounces (and mom weighs a whole lot more) and is around 5 inches long from head to bottom. The baby can move its joints and the sweat glands are starting to develop. Wow!

Today I had a baby doctor appointment, and got to hear the heartbeat again! It was around 150. What a precious noise to hear! It just sounds so.. cute!

Here's the size of the baby this week:

And the thing is... this seems big to me! But I don't feel a ton bigger in my stomach and I'm anxious to feel the baby move! They say the first things you feel are more like gas bubbles, which I think I've felt! I know you're in there little one!

3 years.

today we celebrate 3 years as Mr. and Mrs. Prosser..

I know everyone says it, but it really was the best day of my life. The anticipation.. how excited we were, the people, Luke's face. :) One of my favorite moments was when we left the ceremony, got in the car together and freaked out!! We were screaming that we are marriiiieedd! Nothing can come close to that feeling.

I loved him when he asked me to be his girlfriend on September 25, 2004 by telling me to circle yes or no.

I loved him when he asked me to be his wife on November 26, 2005 by singing a song, getting down on one knee.. and asking me to circle yes or no.

I loved him on September 23, 2006 when he married me!!

I loved him on June 28, 2009 when I told him we are going to have a baby..

I love you today, Luke Prosser, more than ever.

avocado

This is where the baby is at this week..

It's the size of an avocado, which is big.. but doesn't seem to have grown a ton. The weeks before it was a lemon, then an apple. But in the next few weeks, the baby will double in size, to the length of a banana! The baby is 4.5 in. long and 3.5 ounces. The legs are more developed and the head is.. looking more like a head, with the eyes moving closer to the front of the head (alien child). The little babe has toenails and is pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day! So much going on in there and I can't feel it yet! I can't wait to feel the little thing moving.. that's going to be incredible.

I feel good.. bigger, but good. I'm in that awkward, just looks fat stage. Pants aren't really fitting, so I'm sticking to as many dresses as I can while it's still warm. Oh! I have a picture of my belly. Warning... I look fat. Just saying.

I haven't really mastered the best way to take these pictures. Here's 8 weeks (with Suz! She didn't know she was pregnant!), 11 weeks and 15 weeks. hmm is it bad I already want to get back to pre-baby? Hurry up little one!

falling in love..

I'm ready for fall. I usually dread it, because this does mean bitter cold weather for the next 6 months.. but this year, I'm ready for the cooler weather. This pregnant thing makes you hot! The many things I love about fall... hot chocolate. hot coffee. homemade apple sauce. apple crisp. apple orchards. new candles. red, orange, yellow leaves. boots. sweaters. layers. Al gets super happy. chai. new mugs (thanks Johnna). thanksgiving. candy corns. mums. mmm. Here are pictures of my favorite things in fall so far. And I know, I know.. the weather doesn't seem to be too fall-ish lately. But in case it does, I'm ready.

nasa

So i was thinking about what atributes our child will have and who's eyes it will have and who's mouth and who's brain...I originally chalked that one up to me for obvious reasons but then i started to really think about it and how I kinda hope it has more of mom's brain...but then i also thought about that some more and ruled that out...lets just call it like it is, it is pre-destined to be a space cadet. but at least it'll be a social space cadet...

love this kid...

Here's our little nephew man.. mmm, he's wonderful. Enough said. Enjoy the many faces of Landon Kirkpatrick.

p.s... this does make me want a boy :)

new shopping priorities..

Sometimes I feel like I have a while until the baby blesses us with its presence, but other times... 6 months away?! So much to do, to buy, to think and dream about! Two things I've never done in my life:

first... Buy maternity clothes! I did it.. I had low expectations for this thick elastic band thing on maternity pants, but since my jeans are completely uncomfortable now, I had to do it! And the result? I'm that much more in love with Gap. I got dress pants, a couple shirts and cardigans for the fall, all on sale! I'm wayyy excited! It's a monumental day of clothing purchases! After buying the clothes, I went outside to walk to Bath and Body Works then remembered that I can't handle the heat like I used to and the scents in B&B Works make me nauseous.. so I went home! I usually want the heat to stay before fall, but I need the cooler weather! Bring on fall! (I know that makes Al so proud)

Here's a couple things I bought.. I suppose I could take pics of myself. I will soon, you need to see my belly :)

second... Buy crib bedding! That has been my search lately, and I really didn't know how extensive this search was. Just like everything else in this world (don't get me started on the gum choices).. there aren't a few choices anymore.. hundreds and hundreds to look through! A favorite site to browse at is babysupermall.com (thanks Suz!). There are sooo many options that are adorable! Since we aren't finding out the gender, it's hard to pick something that you can add pinks and blues to. Sooo... I found a new fav! This one is on gap.com and I'm kind of in love. Thoughts???

Dear baby...

"But now, this is what the Lord says. He who created you, Oh Jacob, he who formed you, Oh Israel. Fear not, for I have redeemed you, I have summoned you by name...
You are mine."

The fair with a prego lady!

I ate a lot this year.. I don't think it was really more than usual, but it just tasted that much better. Cheese curds, Sweet Martha cookies, milkshakes, steak sandwich, lemonade and a strawberry crepe! oh so good. It was the 5 year anniversary of when Luke and I... first flirted, first held hands, first romantic stomach feelings. mmm.. and here we are!

Feels like the end of a great summer! But I'm definitely ok with fall and winter coming.. then we get closer to welcoming the little!

Don't Call it a Comeback

For the first time in a month or so, (more like 6...) I got my body back in the gym. and it felt right. I want to be a ripped dad. like fight club brad pitt ripped. which is why i have decided to start to think about doing p90x...and getting completely wasted on tony horton's workouts. ill keep you updated.

Meet Easton..

Dear baby shrimp (shrimp? that's a weird shape),

We'd like to give you a heads up about our dog, Easton. He's great.. lovable, friendly, crazy, lots of fun, but he's still learning. Hopefully by the time you get here, we're have this thing trained. We got him a shock collar (yes, it's really tough on Kristen), and it should work. No more jumping, excessive licking and he can't give you a high 5 for a while.. his paws are just too big. Really, we're just teaching him some personal space.

And no, you don't just give the dog away when you're having a baby (sorry Nate, you Prossers just don't quite understand the dog thing).

Here's some pictures of the dog in training. Enjoy.

apostle luke

Im finally starting to understand why people talk about this whole pregnancy in 'weeks'. i'm like the apostle paul in a lot of ways...especially in the way of, i always made fun of people who talked like that. i mean, why couldn't you just say that "she's three months along" or "we've got another two months till it comes out". But now that i have been blinding on the road to damascus (hospital...all the parallels) i see that the only way to talk about it is in weeks. its tough to explain, but here it goes...it just gets annoying to keep saying "two and a half months along" from weeks 9 to 11...i mean, we all want to feel like we're making progress through this thing and by talking in weeks, they go by faster and can get to a higher number. So it gives us the illusion that all this time has passed by and we are making progress. i mean, how much cooler does the number 28 sound than 7? it seems like you've gone a much further way with the number 28 behind ya than 7.

(and yes, i did compare myself to paul...deal with it)
