friday night

Our Friday nights look much different than they did a couple years ago... some little dude had to come in and change that.  not that I'll complain at all!

This last Friday, we wanted to spend some family time together.  Living with my parents is really great and we are so incredibly blessed, but as I've mentioned before, the time with just us 3 is precious. :)   So what better place to go on a Friday night than.. McDonalds!  When we were in Florida, he discovered his love for this glorious place (ick).   He mostly loves staring at the kids, pretending he's 6 and can play with them and dipping his fries in the ketchup.   So we did all that, and he loved it!  Afterwards, we walked around the mall and that was a highlight as well.  or, he walked allll over and we followed.  

it's the simple stuff.

Leyton is really hilarious lately.  He's got such a personality and he's so fun to be with everyday.  He's so busy and I can see his little brain working as he plays, he reads his books, drives his car.. he even makes animal noises!  Oh, that's fun :)   So far he can tell us what the cow says, and the horse and the monkey.. usually.  He gets excited, he gets sad.. and all the emotions in between.  He dances when music comes on and laughs to hard he can barely breath.   We love this little guy!

we've had such beautiful weather these past few days!   Leyton can't get enough of the sunshine and was out at the park for almost 3 hours today!  We swing, play in the sand, walk around, play with the kids (he seriously thinks he's about seven yrs old)

weekend fun.

Have I mentioned that I love weekends?  It's so wonderful to get to hang out with my boys.. especially Luke :)  My parents have been gone for a week, visiting Nathan, Chrissie and Delaney (!) in Colorado.. so we've had the house to ourselves.  We feel like we're playing house again.. just the 3 of us, and it's great.  We love living with our parents and things are going great, but it's nice to just be us again!

So.. Friday night we went to Brasa restaurant in Minneapolis with our friends, the Mikls.  We ate tons of meat and loved it!  Came home, watched the Due Date (pretty funny).. and slept in on Saturday.  Leyton had a sleepover with his grandma & grandpa Prosser (who was so exhausted from his night with them that he slept in until 9 on Sunday!!)

Saturday.. Stevin, Luke and I checked out the Parade of Homes in Minneapolis.   So fun!  We drove all over the cities, spent 6 wonderful hours checking out homes.. both new and remodeled.  Got some great ideas, even checked out a 5 million dollar home in Edina.  ridiculous.  Probably wasn't the best idea right before we become house hunters.. oops.

This is what I have been reading lately.. (it's a wonderful, rainy day today and Leyton naps a long time on days like this.  thank you son!)

Crazy Love, by Francis Chan.

So good.  Incredibly convicting, encouraging and eye opening. Read it!  It will absolutely change your life... or it should.

And I just finished this:

The Secret Life of Cee-Cee Wilkes, by Diane Chamberlain.  

Thrilling, mysterious, bit of a twisted story.  (thanks for the recommendation Steph.  I couldn't put it down) :)

Love her house!  Everything about it is just.. cute.  Especially her little girl.  Presley just may have been added to our girl list. :)
