love this kid...

Here's our little nephew man.. mmm, he's wonderful. Enough said. Enjoy the many faces of Landon Kirkpatrick.

p.s... this does make me want a boy :)

new shopping priorities..

Sometimes I feel like I have a while until the baby blesses us with its presence, but other times... 6 months away?! So much to do, to buy, to think and dream about! Two things I've never done in my life:

first... Buy maternity clothes! I did it.. I had low expectations for this thick elastic band thing on maternity pants, but since my jeans are completely uncomfortable now, I had to do it! And the result? I'm that much more in love with Gap. I got dress pants, a couple shirts and cardigans for the fall, all on sale! I'm wayyy excited! It's a monumental day of clothing purchases! After buying the clothes, I went outside to walk to Bath and Body Works then remembered that I can't handle the heat like I used to and the scents in B&B Works make me nauseous.. so I went home! I usually want the heat to stay before fall, but I need the cooler weather! Bring on fall! (I know that makes Al so proud)

Here's a couple things I bought.. I suppose I could take pics of myself. I will soon, you need to see my belly :)

second... Buy crib bedding! That has been my search lately, and I really didn't know how extensive this search was. Just like everything else in this world (don't get me started on the gum choices).. there aren't a few choices anymore.. hundreds and hundreds to look through! A favorite site to browse at is babysupermall.com (thanks Suz!). There are sooo many options that are adorable! Since we aren't finding out the gender, it's hard to pick something that you can add pinks and blues to. Sooo... I found a new fav! This one is on gap.com and I'm kind of in love. Thoughts???

Dear baby...

"But now, this is what the Lord says. He who created you, Oh Jacob, he who formed you, Oh Israel. Fear not, for I have redeemed you, I have summoned you by name...
You are mine."

The fair with a prego lady!

I ate a lot this year.. I don't think it was really more than usual, but it just tasted that much better. Cheese curds, Sweet Martha cookies, milkshakes, steak sandwich, lemonade and a strawberry crepe! oh so good. It was the 5 year anniversary of when Luke and I... first flirted, first held hands, first romantic stomach feelings. mmm.. and here we are!

Feels like the end of a great summer! But I'm definitely ok with fall and winter coming.. then we get closer to welcoming the little!

Meet Easton..

Dear baby shrimp (shrimp? that's a weird shape),

We'd like to give you a heads up about our dog, Easton. He's great.. lovable, friendly, crazy, lots of fun, but he's still learning. Hopefully by the time you get here, we're have this thing trained. We got him a shock collar (yes, it's really tough on Kristen), and it should work. No more jumping, excessive licking and he can't give you a high 5 for a while.. his paws are just too big. Really, we're just teaching him some personal space.

And no, you don't just give the dog away when you're having a baby (sorry Nate, you Prossers just don't quite understand the dog thing).

Here's some pictures of the dog in training. Enjoy.

apostle luke

Im finally starting to understand why people talk about this whole pregnancy in 'weeks'. i'm like the apostle paul in a lot of ways...especially in the way of, i always made fun of people who talked like that. i mean, why couldn't you just say that "she's three months along" or "we've got another two months till it comes out". But now that i have been blinding on the road to damascus (hospital...all the parallels) i see that the only way to talk about it is in weeks. its tough to explain, but here it goes...it just gets annoying to keep saying "two and a half months along" from weeks 9 to 11...i mean, we all want to feel like we're making progress through this thing and by talking in weeks, they go by faster and can get to a higher number. So it gives us the illusion that all this time has passed by and we are making progress. i mean, how much cooler does the number 28 sound than 7? it seems like you've gone a much further way with the number 28 behind ya than 7.

(and yes, i did compare myself to paul...deal with it)
