our weekend

Coming a day or so late.. but we had a wonderful weekend!  Ok.. let's be honest, Leyton's going through a bit of a difficult stage lately.  He has opinions, but can't express them.  So he screams.  Or cries.  And we're starting to have to really be strict and consistent about disciplining the little dude.   It's the little stuff with eating behavior during meals, not touching stuff.  All that.  It's just a little more exhausting these days to be a parent.

So, we don't mind the breaks!  This weekend, Luke's parents watched him Friday and Saturday.  We enjoyed our time "off!"  We went to dinner with some friends at a great Italian restaurant called Parma.  Then enjoyed ice cream over at their house.  Just imagine it in your head, because I don't have pictures to prove it.  But it was fun.

Saturday, I had a wedding.  The wedding was great.. all downtown, fun people, can't complain.  But before that, we went to a really fun breakfast place in Minneapolis called Loring Kitchen.  Perfect sunny day, beautiful view or the cities and delicious Belgian Waffles.  Can't beat that!  We went with our friends Mary & Justin, who are getting married next weekend!  Can't wait!

Then Sunday.. Mother's Day!!!  I had a feeling I already would like this holiday.  It's just the little stuff.. Luke let me sleep in a little longer, my mom watched Leyton while we sat through church (ahh, this is a luxury).. then we spent some time with both mothers.  And as a gift from my men?  I certificate for a massage!  It was a great day and so special to be with our families.  We are so blessed to live by our mothers!

In other news.. Leyton's hilarious these days.  And naughty, but so funny.  He "talks" tons, thinking he's making full sentences and really having a conversation.  He presses the phone up against his ear and just yaps and yaps!  He's obviously being raised with plenty of technology around :)   I just gave him his second haircut this morning, oh did he need it.  He was looking real scraggly and had a good mullet going. So we had to end that!

Loving cucumbers!

And just a crazy picture from last week, after a long nap!
