updated house

Here are some photos of the house progress these days!  We had a housewarming party on Saturday night (or really, get together.. we're getting old.  we don't.. party.)   So that was a good excuse to get this house cleaned up as best as we could!

I feel like explaining along with every picture.. as to what's still a work in progress, what the plans are.. (young house love style?) but for now, here's just the photos!

growth spurt

We're feeling large around here these days.. both due to growing babies!

I am 32 weeks along and carrying a jicama baby in my belly!   This growing thing is almost 4 pounds and is taking up much of my uterus, and everything surrounding.. including my ribs.  From here on out, the baby will gain about 1/2 lb per week.. it was toenails, fingernails and real live fuzzy hair!  I really am feeling much bigger.  I feel like I've turned that corner of being quite uncomfortable.  It's harder to sleep, harder to get up from bed, harder to hold Leyton and chase him all day long.  oof.

In other news, our dear friends the Lees welcomed little miss Ruby Layne Lee into the world on Saturday. I'm so excited for these two.. now three!  I have a lot of pregnant friends and the list keeps growing!  I love it.  The list includes:  Lizzy, Watson, Johnna and Mary.. and past tense.. Allison.

And the other growing human around this house.. my little mister!  This was today's activity..  Playing with homemade play-doe.  Way fun for both of us!

bed time.

I love bedtime around this house.. it's a little chaotic and a lot wonderful.. and to think we only have one kid!   We've got the routine down by now.. so figured I'd record these photos!  It'll be fun to look back and probably laugh that we thought this was chaotic.  

But this is how it goes!   

Step one: bathtime.  Leyton loves the water and the toys and we often have to pull him out.

Step two:  brushing teeth!  He's getting the hang of this now (he has a lot of teeth!  I think 12?!)  He pulls up his stool and likes to do it himself.  sure thing, mr. independent.

 

 

Step three:  reading books.  This can go on for a while, but he loves it and so do we!  You've probably figured out that Leyton doesn't still too often, so when he does, we cherish it!

Step four: bed time!  He rarely fights this.. just finds his spot among the blankets and pillows and settles in!  no toys in bed buddy.  :)

We had such a fun photo shoot for Leyton's 18 month pictures.. so glad we got these done!  And it's so nice to have pictures of the 3 of us (or 3.5 with the bump!)
