Brothers, Week 12

2 this week.. the boys were being extra cute.

I'm going to pay for this years down the road when I have millions of photos to keep track of.  But, this is what I've captured around the Prosser house lately.

Brothers, Week 11

Cute story.  Before putting Leyton down for his nap, Finn and I laid in his big bed and read books with him for a little while.  Then, he asked to hold Finn (holds out his hands saying "me. me")  He puts his arm around Finn and they lay next to each other for a second before Leyton looks at me, waves with his hand and says, "night night Mom."  Very sweet, my boy.   I cherish these early little moments between my boys. 

and then, the next day came.  he gets his emotions from his dad.  I promise...



and Finn wanted to advertise his stance of the whole thing.. I agree with ya, little buddy.

 

Brothers, Week 10

Finn, 3 months

My little newborn is suddenly a real live boy!  I forgot how much I loved the 3ish-month stage with babies until Mr. Finn showed us the full extent of how cute and smiley and perfect he can be!  I'm going to make a prediction that he is going to quite the mama's boy.. Leyton has his moments but is partial to Luke these days.  Finn loves to watch me, follows me across the room and lights up when I flash him my big smiles.  It makes me melt every time!  

Finn is really good at holding his head up when he's on his stomach, looks like he's going to fly away.. he sits in the bumbo now and we even introduced him to a great video called Praise Baby (one of Leyton's favs).  We tried the johnny jump up but his little neck can't handle that quite yet.  When you hold him, his legs stand straight and he loves to wobble around!  

Things I want to remember this month: his clammy hands and feet.  his scratched up face (oops).  his cradle cap head.  his expert burping.  his size 3 diapers!  his not-so-great night sleeping. his faux-hawk or as we call it, his Finn hawk.  his noises, he tries to hard to get a word in around this noisy house!

Leyton facts.

A couple things about our big boy that I want to remember...  his prayer the other day.  We pray with him before meals and at bedtime and occasionally, he will volunteer to pray.. it's so adorable.  The other day he was with grandma and grandpa Prosser at his favorite restaurant (McDonalds) and Leyton prayed for the meal.  He said "Jesus. Gama. Papa. Cone. Fren Fri. Amen!"  that about covers it... :)

Our big 2 year old weighs 36 lbs and is 37.5 inches tall.. 99% for both! 

Leyton moves out

It happened.  The day came.  Leyton made the official move to his big boy bed this past weekend.  We were terrified of how this could go!  The room has been ready for a couple weeks now.  I loved having time to paint, set up, decorate a room for my big boy!  We've been trying to explain to him how this all going to go, and spent plenty of time in the room hanging out.  But Friday night, we made it happen.  And it honestly couldn't have gone better.  I'm kinda shocked, but then again this boy has always been a rockstar sleeper (yes, I'm going to brag about this one.. there hasn't been much to brag about with him in the earlier years but he's been awesome lately, so I get to brag!)

We have a few things on our side.. daylight savings (so when he woke up at 6, we left a little better that it said 7 o'clock).  a fun, exhausting weekend to make him extra tired.  a great dad who slept with him the first 2 nights.  and a rainy Monday morning that let him sleep in until almost 10?!  This is a big day!

and yes, we already ordered a video monitor to go to our phones, because between Leyton's activities in that room and the soon to be Leyton/Finn brother duo.. we're in for some hilarious viewings.

Brothers, Weeks 8 & 9

I got a bit behind.. but the boys are still here and doing great!  Leyton even kisses his brother on occasion... without smashing him.  progress!

Finn's dedication

I posted about this a couple of year ago when we dedication Leyton..  here.. but we had the awesome privilege this past weekend of dedicating Mr. Finn at our church.  It was at our new church, Eagle Brook, and was again, such a great experience and special moment in the life of our family.  It's basically a public declaration of our commitment to raise Finn in the church and with Christian values, under the Christian faith.  We love Jesus around here and we want our kids to know it and to know Christ like we do!

Our families were there to support us, it was so great to be all together!  Here's a couple pictures...

Happy 2nd birthday Leyton!

My big boy is 2 today!   It's about time, little buddy! :)  We had a crazy fun weekend.. full of birthday celebrations, tons of family and friends, a baby dedication for Finn and carried all the fun into Monday for my birthday!

I don't have a lot of words to describe the weekend.   At the end of the night Saturday, I couldn't help but smile and feel so grateful for all the love and support from our friends and family.. who love our Leyton as much as we do!    I'll narrate through the photos so you can get an idea of our fun!

 The theme for his party was wild animals.. one of Leyton's favorite things right now.  We had breakfast pizza, caramel rolls, juice, coffee and cake!  I love morning parties!

ok, look at this cake!  My sweet friend, Hilary, is a cake MASTER and I seriously think this is her best one yet.. it's animal cake pops stuck in a mini cake on top!  I was blown away and am forever grateful for this gift!  thanks Hil!
