our 7-year-old.

Leyton likes: eating ketchup, jumping, legos, elmo, grandma's house, steam-rolling his brother, smashing bugs, falling down on purpose, ice age, and the letter "e"

Leyton dislikes: chicken, cement trucks, sunday school

Leyton can: say all of this letters, count to 13, say a bunch of colors, sing the ABC song and twinkle twinkle, hold up 2 fingers, tell you all his animals (flamingo, giraffe and polar bear are his favorites).  he can even color on couches..

and has a new haircut.  watch out ladies.

Brothers, Week 15

"you're not going to rescue me, mom?"

remember that thought when you were little.. that you'd eventually be able to catch up in age to your older brother/sister?  soon enough, little Finn.. you'll have your time.

a weekend of firsts.

We had such a great weekend around the Prosser house.   On Friday night, the boys took me out to eat at a cute local place in downtown White Bear, called Washington square.  We're those crazy Minnesotans that ate outside in 50 degree weather, but hey.. the sun was shining, it felt great!  We stopped and got a mini cone for Leyton and spent some time walking around and watching Luke and Leyton parkour (it's a real word and they're good at it..)

Saturday was full of house work, yard work (thank you Muggs and Chris!).. then we finished the day at the Mall of America.  This little spontaneous trip turned into such a fun time!  We ate at Rainforest Cafe.. a 2 year old, animal lovers dream... played Legos at legoland, and rode some little kid rides at the amusement park.  Fun, right?   Leyton was such a champ on the rides, it was hilarious.  The only rides he has been on are the merry-go-round (doesn't care for it) and the train last year in the Florida (hated it).  So we didn't have too high of expectations.  But he seriously loved it!  We went on a slow train first, then moved up to the bus that goes really high, then to some cars that whip around really fast, then a real live rollercoaster! (well, real live for a 2 year old).  He was so funny.. not very expressive but would quietly yell 'wooo' every once in a while and try to put his hands up.

Sunday, we went to church and for the first time, both boys went to nursery!  It was wierd, I felt extremely bare without a baby or even a diaper bag.  Leyton still doesn't do the best in nursery.  Luckily, he hangs in there and barely makes it so we aren't those embarrassed parents who get their number called. And of course, Finn was a gem.  The girls in the nursery said that he's such a good baby, he smiled the whole time.. ahhh this feels great to have one of our kids be called a "good baby!"

Here's the big boy on the rollercoaster with grandma!

the calm side.

This is the thing.. I started writing this cute little post about my cute little son yesterday before he drew circles with a blue crayon all over our couch!  I can't even tell you how upset I was.  But you might be able to get an idea with this picture...

seriously.  It had already been an interesting morning, or what I like to nicely call a "teaching" morning.. complete with a couple "teaching" spankings.  Not really sure when he drew this masterpiece, but I turned the corner and was.. shocked.  I didn't know what else to do with the kid so I put him to bed!  of course, he was his super cute self when he woke up so we mended our relationship.. I guess.

anyways, I couldn't bring myself to finish this post with the mood I was in.. but we're moving on!  Despite Leyton's wild side, and apparently his rebellious side, some of my favorite moments with him are the times when we sit together and color. and draw. and practice letters. and do stickers.  It can last quite a while and it's such a nice break for both of us.

I think I've said this before, but I am loving this age where he absorbs so much! (but I guess except for the 'only color on paper thing'...)  It's so fun to hear the words he's learning, his letters, colors, numbers.. he already has such a creative mind and it's so fun to see his little brain at work.

and here's just a cute picture of his buddy Zakary.. milk and cookies were just what the doctor ordered.  they're master dippers too.. :)

baby Uran is coming!

We are less than a month away from meeting Mary and Justin's baby!  Mary is a friend of mine from high school, who now lives up in St. Paul and we get to be together again!  My friend Angela, Mary's sister, Kate and I got to throw a super fun shower for Mary and her upcoming arrival.. here are the details!

Isn't Mary adorable?  Seriously, I love pregnant ladies. a lot.

photo booth to show the guesses of the baby's gender.  a few different answers!  But, don't worry, it's a girl, I just know it.

happy 4 months Finn!

oh, how I love his little butt.

Finn is a whole 4 months old today!  I seriously forget all these changes.. I still feel like he's a newborn and just arrived, but he's a full blown baby!  He does roll front his stomach to his back, and it's desperately working on going the other way.  He grabs on to things now, but with little control on where the toy goes.   My favorite change in the past couple months is his real live giggling!  It takes some work sometimes and requires a lot of funny noises and faces from us, but more recently, he'll just laugh at the littler things.. it just melts my heart.

the little things.. his scalp is getting better and not so dry.. but he does have sensitive skin. again, his mother's son (sorrrry).  He is tons better at sleeping through the night!  We really just had to help him get used to soothing himself to sleep instead of relying on the pacifier.  We're starting to feel like the parents again and not like he's running the show.  that's how it's done around here, son.

he's probably the sweetest baby I've ever met. (that's what I tell him anyways).  He's such a joy and brings so much light to our lives, especially on cold, cloudy days.  We love you little boy!

Brothers, Week 14

better, ya?
this one involved bribery of candy and suckers.  and by the look on Leyton's face, he apparently already earned it.

have a good weekend!

Finn's a roller..

This is a little belated.. but at the fine age of 3.5 months, Finn rolled over!  He' s a little lazy about it though, and has since only repeated this a couple times.  My little guy is growing up!

I seriously can't believe that in such a short time, my Finn has grown from this...

to this!  wow, what a chunk.  oh how we love every bit of those rolls!

easter pictures.

We had a wonderful Easter this year with our families!  We are super blessed to live so close to both of our parents, but if we want to see both on these holidays.. that means for quite a bit of car driving!  But we did it, loved it, and even got some good naps in between.  When Leyton woke up, I gave him his Easter basket, let him eat some candy (can-y!) and talked about Easter for a bit.  We would ask him, "what is Easter about?"  He would say.. "Jesus!"  Well, he actually said "baby Jesus" quite a bit.  We had to explain that there's a big-boy Jesus.

Here's too many photos!  But, lots of family means lots of pictures!

my sister!  We think we look cute.. :)  well really, anytime I wear a dress (let alone, shower!).. it must be photographed.

Finn-squisher!

help from grandpa..

more egg hunting at Prossers!

Grandpa's watching golf, while Finn tunes into Uncle Nate's game on the computer.  Train em' well, grandpa.

long day for Finn.. rough life little guy.

We kept the party going the next morning with more presents from the family!  I think he (and the ducky) are good on candy for a while.. :)

Brothers, Week 13

I'm slacking on these brother pictures. It's stinkin hard to get them to both look at me!  I'm pulling out all my photographer tricks, but I guess it's different when I'm their mom.  and when they're squirmy. and when all a baby can do is lay there.

I'll work on that.

happy Easter!

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead."  1 Peter 1:3

Happy Easter from the Prossers!

Iowa venture

On Monday and Tuesday, my mom, dad and I took on the huge task of venturing to Des Moines to visit my two brothers, their wives and kids.  I'm so grateful for my parents help and very glad I didn't do this on my own.  My boys were pretty great in the car though.  Baby Leyton was never a fan of car traveling and really scarred me from wanting to try that again.  But.. Finn is a whole new boy, and quite an easy one.  He just slept and smiled and stared at me the whole time.  Leyton played cars, read books and watched a movie.  We made it!  (it's the small victories, right?)

We had so much fun visiting the family, but were missing Erin, Tyler and Luke!  and I don't know why I didn't take a picture of Lisa.. she was there.  Nathan, Chrissie and Delaney live in Colorado so we don't get to see them as much.. I love cute little Delaney!  she's a peanut.  and it was good to see the other boys, Jude and Landon.  it was chaotic and loud and just perfect!

the grandkids:

I like this picture because it looks like their talking about something.  probably the cement truck, or the garbage truck.  or Landon's gator.

so cute!  she loves her daddy!

Ryan and his boys.
