quick story..

So... I wanted to get to CVS pharmacy down the street to get Leyton's medicine. Shouldn't be too hard right? I thought I'd take him for a walk, but you can't just take him.. Easton gets very jealous. So, we all went.. After Easton pulled his way to this store, I hooked him up to a pole. I walk in the store with Leyton and about 30 seconds later Easton comes darting in the door! I looked around a little in shock.. people asking if that was my dog. Yes, the sweet thing came right to me. sheesh. I grabbed his broken leash and we headed out the door. Oh, and cue Leyton's cry!

A crazy dog and a crying baby later.. no medicine. Oh well, we'll try again later.

happy boy!

He's doing better! Thanks for your prayers...

We went to the doctor.. oh boy, Leyton didn't like that. But the doctor saw first hand the power of his scream, she saw that he really was unhappy and in pain. The doc told me to try going off dairy.. no good. Then, we tried him on a high protein formula.. didn't work. So, she finally put him on a medicine called Zantac (spelling is probably off on that one)... to help decrease the acid in his stomach.

He's happy! It's such a joy to see him smiling and making tons of noises.. noises that aren't crying. yeahh! He's really into looking at everything.. loves his mobile and all his aminals (yes, aminals). But his favorite thing is still the window. ooooh the light!

We'll keep you posted, but it's a happy house today!

Oh and my dad came over to watch him the other day while I ran errands, what a blessing! Cute grandpa pic (oh, he prefers to be called gpa)!

prayer requests!

Happy Monday! Quick update.. and I do have some cuuute pics to post, but they need to come off my camera first. So, for those who love to pray.. pray really hard! And for those who don't normally pray.. start! If you think of this little family of 3, this is what you can pray for:

1. Leyton. I think he's sick. :( He didn't exactly tell me so, but the crying, whining and the grunting leads us to think he has some type of stomach or digestive problem. It breaks my heart to see him just unsettled and in pain, and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't wearing on me as well. It's tough to hear the little guy cry. We went to the doc and are trying a few things (I didn't realize how much I love dairy!), but hopefully will get some medicine for him.

2. Our house! The short version is this: We sold our house, celebrated, packed up half this place and found a new house that we fell in love with. THEN!!... fake out, our house didn't actually sell. Some appraiser dude came in here, told us it's worth less than what we sold it for (what?!) and the deal is off. SOOO bummed! So, please please pray. For the sale of this house to happen soon, and for a good price (not that we aren't super rich or anything... ya right) and for God to reserve a "perfect" house for the next one!

I guess that's about it.. but big stuff.

Thank you all: luke, kristen & baby leyts

Rules for My Unborn Son

I love that we have a boy. I love that he burps loud, gases loud and eats loud. (yes Luke, I said gases) He already has so much energy! He loves to hold his head up, loves pushing his legs trying to stand and wiggles all the time. He's all boy!

My mom got Luke a great book before we knew we were having a boy. It's called Rules for My Unborn Son.. such a fun book! The author meant to say "unborn" because he wanted to think of all these rules for his boy before he had a son.. "before the mayhem of actual fatherhood made him too soft or too sanctimonious (I looked it up, it basically means too holier than thou)"

Now that we have a son, these are great rules! Life's rules to make a boy a real boy, or a man a real man. I love it. Here's some ideas:

When in doubt, wear a tie.
Ride in the front car of a roller coaster.
Men with facial hair have something to hide.
Be a vigorous dancer.
Stand up for the little guy. He'll remember you.
Start a band.
Know her dress size. Don't ask.
Spend time with your mother. She's cooler than you think. (yaaa!)
Yes Ma'am. No Sir. No exceptions.
Always meet your date at the door.
Sit in the front of the classroom.
Don't show off. Impress.
The best chance of being a rock star is learning the bass.
Be a good wingman.
Offer your date the seat with the best view in the restaurant.
Be a good diver.
On a night out with the boys, never be the first to go home.
Go all out on Halloween.
Offer your seat to a woman, no matter how old she is.
Ask your mother to dance.

I could keep going.. they are so good! These are my hopes and dreams for Mr. Leyton. I can't wait.

Until next time, mom.

he's a little man!

On another note.. look at this boy! He grew from an alien newborn (super cute adorable alien).. to a real baby boy! Wow.

I have to start bringing a real camera.. the phone thing isn't really working. I'll work on that.

She had a girl!!

Our dear friends, Susan and Brent, had a baby girl! Peyton Burns was born on Wednesday, March 31st and is a beautiful sweet little girl! I'm so very proud of Suz, it's been quite a roller coaster but we made it to the other side! It seriously feels like years and years that we were pregnant, but now I can't imagine anything different. It's sooo perfect that we have one of each, a sweet baby girl and a crazy baby boy!

Here's an amazing before and after:
